This is obviously a very special recording. James Newton, arguably the greatest Jazz flutist ever, was matched in 1989 with lyrical pianist Anthony Davis and the preeminent cellist Abdul Wadud. Each of the 7 tracks is a journey through composition, experimentation, improvisation, musicianship. Extremely compelling material.
